Weaving Bridges 2023 - Mona Vale Creative Space - Gallery

2 June to 23 June 2023 | 10:00am to 12:00pm

Weaving Bridges 2023

In celebration of the 2023 Gai-mariagal Festival theme, “Truth Telling…. For Our Elders”, invites us all to commemorate and celebrate together and walk side by side towards reviewing and renewing our future together.

Join free weaving workshops from 1 June - 7 July, with Elders and members of the local Aboriginal community who invite you to sit with them while you learn the cultural practice of weaving and hear their local stories. Master Weaver Karleen Green will be leading each workshop, as each weave will contribute to a final public artwork to be displayed at Manly Library during the month of July.

The final weaving workshop will be part of the ‘For Our Elders, Honouring Our Knowledge Keeper’s exhibition curated by Noongar Basket Weaver, Jodie Dowd at Curl Creative Space on 7 July to celebrate NAIDOC week.

Don’t miss out and book your place now!

We acknowledge the original custodians of the land, the Gai-mariagal clans of the Northern Sydney Region.  We pay our respects to the Elders past and present.
