Artwork by artists Jude Jarrett

7 June 2023 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Dot painting workshop with Jude Jarrett

In this workshop Jude will discuss the dot painting style that is well known in Aboriginal paintings and share her knowledge of how it came to be and how it is now widely accepted and used by many Aboriginal artists around Australia.

Jude Jarrett is a proud Koori woman from the Gumbaynggirr Nation. Jude is a ‘Modern Urban Artist’ who's art reflects her life, a mixture of her cultural heritage as a proud Aboriginal woman and that of a modern Aboriginal woman.

'Deep inside me are my roots, firmly planted on Country; the Nambucca Valley, home of the Gumbaynggirr people. Dot art has always captured and fascinated me and I feel a strong sense of connection with my culture when I paint. My works reflect the 'conciliation' between traditional methods with modern colours and mediums.' As stated by Jude. Dot painting workshop presented by artist Jude Jarrett.
